Write appropriate system test plans and plan the testing involved for each phase of the project. Part of the worksop is to write and review test plans.

Workshop Overview: This workshop presents a disciplined approach to system test plan development. Attendees will learn:

• What the key components of a test plan are
• How to understand corporate and technical requirements to best test the product
• How to develop the test schedule, discuss tradeoffs between manual and automated testing
• How to illuminate testing risks for management

Evaluate a product from the perspectives of product and project complexity to decide which approaches to test the design and implementation using black box testing techniques. Part of the worksop is to write black box tests.

Workshop Overview: This workshop will present a disciplined approach and practice to black box test scenario development. Attendees will learn:

• Fifferent ways to approach a testing problem, how to decompose the product into testable pieces.
• The different requirements for test design of functional, performance, and installation tests.
• The difference between performance and load testing, and when to do what.
• Methods of automating tests to enable you to develop complex scenarios.

Evaluate white box approaches to testing, automation of GUI testing, and development of metrics to improve overall test coverage and design. Part of the worksop is to develop white box tests.

Workshop Overview: This workshop will discuss and practice white box techniques of testing. Attendees will learn:

• How to choose tests to increase code coverage
• Statistical techniques such as Monte Carlo testing.
• Where in the software lifecycle white box testing is most valuable

This workshop gives attendees techniques for eliciting product and project requirements and creating test strategies for a given project.

Workshop Overview: This workshop will discuss how to obtain requirements when none are witten down, and how to plan the testing for product success. Attendees will learn and practice:

• What does quality mean to your product: a product quality model
• What requirements are
• General techniques to clarify requirements, includes exercises and debriefs
• Specific techniques for eliciting priority of testing requirements using the product quality model and general requirements techniques
