VB Watch includes three distinct testing tools for Visual Basic. Profiler measures the run-time performance of procedures and statements. It also logs coverage to find unexecuted lines. Debugger monitors execution of compiled code. It allows setting of breakpoints and tracing through code, and lets the user view the call stack and live objects. Protector adds error handling to code. If an error occurs in the released program, it provides descriptive error reports including line of error, variable values and call stack.

IPCheck is designed to continuously monitor one or more servers. It alerts webmasters if a webserver is not working correctly because the web service is down, CGI scripts return errors or the SQL server is not reachable. IPCheck analyzes the results and notifies the administrator when problems are identified. Additionally it can constantly monitor servers by attempting to connect through a PING command or through a specific port (e.g. HTTP=80, SMTP=25).

The Quality-Checklist Support System Q-Chess is a Web-based implementation of a checklist database, permitting consistent, company-wide access to checklists. Checklists, in this scenario, comprise both a company standard for auditing, as well as a means to record the results of checklist processing for individual projects. As a Web-application, it supports both local and distributed teams with generally available browser technology. At the same time, the back-end database provides centralized provision and administration of checklists, thus allowing for necessary changes and improvement of the testing process. The central database is also controlled and organized via the Web. This innovative solution offers strategic quality management for all ranges of software development, but is not limited to any one process area. It is sufficiently general to manage checklists for almost any purpose. Q-Chess simplifies and speeds up significantly the common steps of successful software development targeted towards pro-active quality control. Without introducing excessive complexity, Q-Chess ascertains the continuous improvement of IT project quality. At the same time, common usage of one identical baseline of checklists in multiple projects helps to improve the maturity of the entire organization. A very noteworthy side-aspect is that Q-Chess is simple to use and to control. Better yet, the complexity does not increase with project size or the size of the organization. Furthermore, individual projects are not overloaded with general checklist-elements that do not apply for a given situation, because the Q-Chess tailoring-capability allows removing irrelevant checks. Aegis is a transaction-based software configuration management system. It provides a framework within which a team of developers may work on many changes to a program independently, and Aegis coordinates integrating these changes back into the master source of the program, with as little disruption as possible.

• Aegis has the ability to require mandatory testing of all change sets before they are committed to the repository.
• Tets are retained in the repository, and may be replayed later by developers, to make sure future change sets don't break existing functionality.
• Correlations between source files and test files allow Aegis to suggest relevant tests to developers.
• Bug fixes are not only required to have their tests pass on the fixed code, but they are required to fail on the unfixed code immediately before commit, to demonstrate that the bug has been reproduced accurately.
